Peter Allen Spradlin, age 78, a lifetime resident of Hoquiam, died on December 23, 2023.

Mr. Spradlin was born on November 17, 1945, in Aberdeen to John Thomas and Irene Virginia (Burke) Spradlin. He was raised in Hoquiam and graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1964.

From high school, he began working in the family logging company, Spradlin Logging. He loved the comradery of working with the crew. He also served in the National Guard from 1965 to 1971.

On August 20, 1966, he and Judy Lynn Bennett were married in Hoquiam. Judy survives at the family home in Hoquiam.

He was also the 2nd generation of Spradlins to head up the Loggers Playday Committee. He and John Curry were instrumental in restarting the current Push Rods. He loved spending time with family and friends at Summit Lake and traveling with Judy.

In addition to his wife, Judy, surviving relatives include two sons, Bradley Allen (Linda) and Jay Thomas Spradlin (Debbie); a brother, Thomas “Tim” John Spradlin (Terese); a sister, Susan Irene Spradlin-Stille (Gregory); 7 grandchildren, Amanda Mary Spradlin, Jordan Taylor Spradlin, Carly Michelle Spradlin, Ali Irene Daughtery-Spradlin (Zeb), Zachary Thomas Spradlin, Abbi Lynn Spradlin, and Graci Marie Bonney-Spradlin; and a great-granddaughter, Harper Anne Daugherty. The extended family has nieces and nephews, Abigaile Muñoz (Salvadore), Tod Murdock, Molly Irene Scott, Wendy Reneé Boatman (Andy), Rebekah Marie Obst (Ben) and Jenna Perez; and 16 great-nieces and nephews.

A private urn committal will be held at Hoquiam’s Sunset Memorial Park.

There will be a celebration of life at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at the Hoquiam Elks Lodge. Food and beverages will be provided and our family would love to see everyone join together to share and view memories of Pete.
