Peggy Norene Nixon, 96, Aberdeen resident and former pharmacist in Aberdeen and Hoquiam, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, at Harbor Regional Health Community Hospital in Aberdeen.
Peggy was born at Elk River, Idaho to Herbert Andrew and Josephine M. (Pellanda) Deary. The family moved to Buckley, Washington where she graduated valedictorian in 1943. She continued her education at Washington State College and received her Pharmaceutical Degree in 1950. She went to work at Madigan Army Hospital at Ft. Lewis, Washington until 1958 when she moved to Aberdeen. She worked for various pharmacies in the area including City Rexall Drug, Harbor Drug and City Center Drug.
Peggy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Peggy is survived by sons: Richard P. Nixon and Ronald K. Nixon both of Aberdeen; sisters: Mary Jo Minor of Boise, Idaho and Norma Johnson of Seattle; two grandchildren: Kevin P. Nixon and Eric Lucas and a great-grandchild, Brenden Lucas.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Marita.
There will be a funeral Mass for Peggy on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church followed by a committal service at the graveside in Fern Hill Cemetery.
