Pearl Mary Mizin, 99, longtime time Aberdeen resident and a 1939 graduate of Weatherwax High School, died Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam, Washington.

Pearl Mary Mizin, 99, longtime time Aberdeen resident and a 1939 graduate of Weatherwax High School, died Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam, Washington.

Pearl was born in Park City, Utah on May 5, 1920 to Joseph and Claira (Poiljan) Nicholas. They moved to Aberdeen when she was young and following her graduation from Aberdeen High School in 1938, she graduated from Grays Harbor Business College.

Pearl married Anthony Mizin at St. Mary’s Church in Aberdeen. He passed away on January 18, 2002.

Pearl worked as the supervisor for “Ma Bell” for many years. She later worked in the meat department at Swanson’s Aberdeen store.

She loved being with her family and she lived for her family. She was a fabulous cook. And anyone that knew her loved her.

Pearl is survived by her daughter, Pamela Mizin Hicks of Aberdeen; a daughter-in-law, Sarah Mizin and nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Sally Nicholas of Hoquiam. She was the last of her siblings and was preceded by: Mike, Johnny, Peter, Louie, Josephine and Zorra and a son Theodore Mizin died on Nov. 11, 2011.

Pearl was placed next to her husband, Anthony, in a private service at Fern Hill Mausoleum in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen, Washington.
