Paul Alan Ames, 51, Aberdeen resident and former commercial truck driver, passed away on Sept. 26, 2021, at his home in Aberdeen, Washington.

Paul was born on Sept. 3, 1970, in Columbus, Montana to Joseph Sylvester and Maryjane Yvonne (Barnhart) Ames.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Terri Ames of Aberdeen; a brother, Tim Ames of Livingston; sister, Vickie Ames of Aberdeen; an uncle, Bill Barnhart of Deer Lodge, Montana; two sisters-in-law Patti and Kari Ames and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph S. Ames and mother, Maryjane Y. Ames and brothers, Joseph, Steven and Andy Ames.

Paul spent his youth in Livingston, Montana until the age of five and then moved to Fresno, California where he attended school. He went on to graduate from Western Truck School in Fresno before moving to Aberdeen in 1993.

He met Terri Lyn Fauber in 1994 and later they married on July 27, 1996, in Cosmopolis, Washington.

Paul fulfilled a life dream of driving across the United States for Swift Transportation and locally for Trailer Service and Schaben and Westling. He logged many local forests for Don Entus Logging. Paul took great pride in the appearance of his “rigs” – polishing for the perfect shine. So much so that he was chosen to deliver a great log to the Polson Museum in Hoquiam after parading it in the Loggers Playday parade.

Paul loved cruising with friends on his Harley Davidson motorcycles, attending events hosted by Clean and Free MC, Hombres MC and Christian Motorcycle Association and rocking out to music in his pickup truck. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing pool, fishing, clam digging, hunting, boating, camping and three-wheeling on the dunes at Sand Lake. He was a painter like his father, loved drawing, woodworking, hobby RC cars and recently took up bull whip making. Paul loved Montana and the “Sleeping Giant” mountain range – once painting it on the wall.

His greatest loves were his pitbull, Zeus, and green cheek conure, Ozzy. His one great sorrow was not having children, however, he held a special place in his heart for his niece Mariah Badillo-Garcia of Aberdeen and nephew Harley Moniz-Ames (deceased) and a friend’s son, Tony Kounavong.

Paul cherished time spent with family and friends and was known as “Lizard” by many and “Pauly” by others, but to all of us, he was our heart. Rest In Peace

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday Nov. 13, 2021, at 1 p.m. at the Cosmopolis Lions Club. Friends and family are invited.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen Washington.
