Patti Jean Mobray, a lifelong resident of Montesano, Washington, passed away on Aug. 18, 2022. Patti was born on Feb. 7, 1958, to Earl and Miriam Mobray at St Joseph’s in Aberdeen, Washington.

Patti attended Montesano High School and graduated in 1976. Shortly after graduation Patti moved to Oregon with her twin sister Judy where they lived for a few years. After returning to Montesano, she met Richard Owen, and they married in August of 1980. After that they welcomed their three daughters Sasha, Alisa and Becca.

Throughout the years Patti worked alongside her father as a meat cutter at the family’s meat locker, owned her own daycare, taught aerobics for the community school, cultivated plants at a local nursery and was a talented seamstress.

Patti was an avid gardener. She loved being outside working with her hands in the dirt. She also enjoyed hunting, camping and being outdoors with her loved ones. After developing her love of gardening, she became immersed in herbal medicine. It was well known by the neighborhood kids that Patti could fix any injury you had with her herbal remedies.

Patti inherited her love of sewing from her grandmother Marguerite. She loved to create costumes and outfits for her three daughters and nieces. Her creative soul would shine through the garments she made for the ones she loved. Her love of animals, music, dancing and laughter were passed on to her daughters through life on the farm, living room dance parties, river camp outs, road trip music sessions and other memorable adventures.

Patti is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws; Sasha and Jimmy, Alisa and Ed, Rebecca and Justin, and her beloved granddaughter Dakota. She is also survived by her mother Miriam Mobray, twin sister Judy and Darryl Kammeyer, sister Tammi and Mark Bjorklund, brother Lon Mobray, and many nieces and one nephew and their families. Patti is also survived by her three beloved cats and constant companions Spot, Callie and Licorice. She was preceded in death by her father Earl.

There will be a celebration of Patti’s life at 12 p.m. on Oct. 8, 2022, at the Montesano United Methodist Church, located at 401 E Spruce Ave. There will be a gathering after the service in the fellowship hall of the church. In honor of Patti please feel free to wear any shade of her favorite color purple. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to PAWS of Grays Harbor or the Montesano United Methodist Church.
