Patricia “Patty” Taylor (née Williams) died peacefully at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Wash. on Jan. 22, 2017, at the age of 73.

Patricia “Patty” Taylor (née Williams) died peacefully at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Wash. on Jan. 22, 2017, at the age of 73. Patty was born on Oct. 28, 1943, in Tacoma, Wash. to Clarence and Thelma Tuson.

She married Rick Taylor on July 7, 1978. After being married just a short time, Rick and Patty opened their own shake mill business, Taylor Shakes in Hoquiam.

Patty was an accomplished hunter, fisherman, and successful crab and shrimp fisherman. Patty bartended at The Seagate in Pacific Beach and The Aloha Tavern where she treated any and ALL like part of her family. She was a generous, witty, dedicated individual who loved her husband and family and who was passionate about her community. Patty was an active and dedicated member of the S’Klallam Indian Tribe loved to share many stories with her grandchildren about her heritage.

Patty is survived by her husband, Richard Taylor; children, Cindy Rice, Charles Rice, Lenard Rice, Patricia Rice, Thomas Rice, Marie Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, Richard Taylor, Gary Brown, and Martha Taylor; siblings, John, Betty, Butch, Micky, and Victor. She is preceded in death by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial is scheduled for Saturday, April 29, at Grays Harbor Fire Station #8 from 2-5 p.m. with refreshments. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Patty’s life. Condolences can be sent to Rick Taylor at P.O. Box 635 Copalis Crossing, WA 98536
