Patricia Louise “Patty” Bieniek, age 83, a longtime resident of East Hoquiam, died on Sept. 22, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. She was born on Nov. 30, 1937, at Hoquiam General Hospital to parents Lee and Violet (Kilgore) Lewis.
Patty was raised in Copalis Crossing and Hoquiam and attended school in the Wishkah Valley.
On Oct. 30, 1955, she and Orville Bieniek were married. The couple made their home on the East Hoquiam Road.
After her kids were situated in school, she opened her ceramic shop. She was active in the shop until the time of her death. In younger years she like to go clam digging. She loved to travel, whether it was an extended vacation or a day trip, and loved animals of all kinds. She was very creative and excelled in most forms of crafting, especially sewing, painting and crocheting.
Surviving relatives include her husband Orville of the family home; a daughter Susan Johnson (Dean) of Hoquiam, a son Bob Bieniek (Laura Mink) of Artic, a grandson Rick Lewis, one granddaughter, Christina Scott (Jeremy); and two great-grandchildren, Lainey Scott and Cooper Scott. Patty is also survived by her cousins, Maxine Gayken of Oregon who was like her sister and Johnny Houser (Dianne) of Utah who was like her brother. She recently met her cousin Arne Lindsay (Ruth) of Oregon. She and Orville loved visiting them and going with them to the Spirit Mountain Casino.
She was preceded by two sons, Richard and Michael Bieniek and a grandson, Jesse Lewis.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021, at St. John’s Cemetery in Wishkah.
