It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia Joanne Marbut.

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia Joanne Marbut, age 93, who departed this world to join her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in heaven on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

Patricia Joanne Marbut was born on February 11, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Cyril and Kathryn Brule. When she was a teenager, her family moved to Bayview, Idaho, where she graduated from Spirit Lake High School. Her father was a teacher at a local college, where she met Gordon Canfield, a young man from Centralia, Washington, whom she later married. Together, they relocated to Wishkah valley and raised three boys, Terry, Gene, and Dan.

During her lifetime, Patricia was actively involved in local churches and dedicated herself to teaching “Good News” programs to local children. She was employed as a cook at Grays Harbor Community Hospital and volunteered her skills at the Ocean Beach Bible Camp for many years.

In 1999, Gordon Canfield passed away, and Patricia later remarried to Wayne Marbut of Wishkah Valley. Sadly, she was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Gordon and Wayne, her son Terry, daughter-in-law Donnea, and her brothers, Gilbert and Kenneth.

Patricia Marbut is survived by her sons, Gene and Dan (Sandy); daughter-in-law, Jeanie, sister-in-law, Lois Brule, sister-in-law, Elaine Canfield; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Her legacy of kindness, love and devotion to her family, community and Christ will continue to inspire and touch the lives of many for years to come.

An interment will be at Aberdeen’s Fern Hill Cemetery on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 1 p.m.. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Light and Life Community Church, 2740 Simpson Avenue, Hoquiam, Washington.

Arrangements are being made by Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
