Patricia D. Bloomingdale passed away Jan. 12, 2020, in Olympia, Washington, her home the last six years. She was born June 1, 1931, to Edward and Lillian (Pfaff) Acklin in Des Moines, Iowa. She resided in Cosmopolis, Washington, for 59 of her 88 years.
Patricia graduated with the class of 1949, from Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen, Washington. She married Herbert H. Bloomingdale on Dec. 23, 1950. She co-owned and managed The Corner Store in Cosmopolis for many years, and was a member of the Cosmopolis Lionettes. She also co-founded and co-organized the Cosmopolis Festival in the Park for several years.
She loved travelling, reading, crocheting, doing decoupage, collecting art and gardening. She also loved sports, the Seattle Seahawks being her favorite team.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Christine Hoey of University Place, Washington; grandchildren, Sean McCarty of Tumwater, Washington, Jennifer Rasmusson of Olympia and Ryan Bloomingdale of Olympia; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert (in 2009); and son, Dana (in 2017).
