Norman E. Sprague was born March 3, 1936, in Portland, Oregon. He died peacefully Monday, April 25, 2022, at Grays Harbor Health & Rehabilitation Center at the age of 86 years.

He married Janet Underwood in 1963. For 15 years he managed Singer Co. stores all over California, before moving his family to settle down in Aberdeen and opening his own Singer store in 1975. He later became a Century 21 Real Estate Agent and eventually managed and owned ERA Real Estate.

Norman was a quiet, gentle and giving man who loved to help others. Community was important to him. He served on several boards such as Neighborworks of Grays Harbor and Harbor Home Health and Hospice. He also loved to lend a helping hand to the local Driftwood Players, and spent many hours volunteering his time to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen. Even after retiring he continued to repair sewing machines as a service to the community. Whether it be donating a rebuilt sewing machine, or helping a neighbor fix their roof, Norman was always glad to be of help.

He leaves behind to mourn him, his wife Janet, son Stephen (Sheryl), daughters Maria and Sandy; grandchildren: Marykate (Bry), Kristine, Ashley (Sam), Ranee’, Amanda (Chris), Brett (Kalie) Joshua, Jonathon (Tanya), Joseph Jr.; great-grandchildren: Pierson, Isaac, Anders, Hailey, Cadence, Sunny, Konrad, Deklin and Khloey; siblings Dan and Carol (Gary); as well as many nieces and nephews.

Norman was predeceased by his parents Delbert and Elisabeth Sprague.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 5 2022.
