Nicky Warren Briney passed away on Nov. 10, 2021, in Seattle, Washington.

He was born on May 30, 1941, in Raymond, Washington to William and Edith Briney, the fourth of five children.

Nick had a “Leave it to Beaver” childhood, complete with bark peeling, model airplanes, stamp collecting, his BB gun, a paper route, Boy Scouts, and later, two very cool old cars while working at Rueben’s Chevron Station.

Graduating from Raymond High School in the class of 1959, he served is the U.S. Army in Germany. Nick attended Grays Harbor College and the University of Washington, and then worked his way up the ladder at Seattle First National Bank.

He married Marsha Niemi from South Bend, Washington, and they had two daughters, Rachel and Angela.

Nick founded his own business and was proudest of his success there. He was also proud of an inside article in Money Magazine featuring him in 1984.

Passing before him were his parents and sisters Roberta Rankin, Gail Hatfield and Wilma Dunsmoor. He is survived by his daughters Rachel Barcellos and Angela Walters, their mother Marsha Westlund, sister Kay Booth and favorite brother-in-law John Dunsmoor. Also surviving him are his grandchildren Erika McAuliffe, Nikolas McAuliffe and Cierra Walters.

We all miss him so much, especially his sense of humor, his wonderful chuckle and love of fun jokes and stories.

A celebration of Nick’s life will be held later.
