Nancy Fay Stallo passed away July 8, 2022, at Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma, of natural causes.
Nancy was born April 27, 1936, to Ernest and Blanche (Hite) Blake in Aberdeen. She loved growing up in the Grayland area and told us many stories of her time in North Cove and other houses along the beaches. Nancy graduated from Ocosta High School in 1954 and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. She worked as a storekeeper in the Navy and that is where she met and married George Stallo in 1955.
The family moved to many Navy bases over the next 10 years, living in California, Texas, Hawaii and Oregon. But Coastal Washington was always her home. Upon their divorce, Nancy moved back to Washington and raised her family of four as a single mom. She was always appreciative of the assistance her mom and brothers gave in helping her raise us. She also loved visiting with her eight nephews and niece at family gatherings.
Nancy worked many local jobs, but her time working in the Financial Aid Office at Grays Harbor College was her favorite. She retired there as Assistant Financial Aid Director in 2000.
Nancy is survived by her daughters Cheryl Goodwin (Earl), Cathy Stallo and son Rick Stallo (Michelle). Her oldest son Robert Stallo (Lori) passed in 2015. She loved visiting with and spoiling her grandchildren Tiffany McCullough, Lisa Switchel, Kyle Stallo, Richelle Stallo, and Cain McCullough. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Blanche Blake, her brothers Frank Blake (Joann) and Sam Blake (Judy).
We will hold a private family gathering to spread her ashes at North Cove in September. Her family is welcome to attend if they want. Details will be given privately. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the scholarship fund at Grays Harbor College or Ocosta High School in her name.
