Nadine (Easter) Raubuch

Nadine (Easter) Raubuch passed away on Feb. 15, 2022.

Nadine (Easter) Raubuch passed away on Feb. 15, 2022. Nadine was born Oct. 4, 1930, to Fred and Helen Easter. She was one of four children: her brother, Bud Easter; and sisters, Dorothy (Dottie) Milrot and Margie Boardman.

Nadine graduated from Montesano High School in 1948 and attended Central Washington University. At an early age Nadine was passionate about music. In high school she participated in choir and band. In college she was a member of the band, playing the cornet. Her sister, son, nephew, and great-granddaughter played the same cornet when they were in school; the horn is still in the family. After college she was part of many different quartets and choruses under the Sweet Adelines, an all women’s singing group that features barbershop music. Her proudest memberships were that of the Lakeside and Seattle Pacific Chorus. As a member she had the opportunity to travel all over the United States; Sydney, Australia; Germany and Austria winning many awards.

Nadine married John (Jack) Raubuch. Together they had two sons and a daughter. They raised their family in Montesano. As a family they loved participating in outdoor activities such as water skiing, motorcycle road trips and flying their personal airplane.

She worked for John Deere for many years. She quit that job to become the bookkeeper for a family owned business. She later worked part time for Grays Harbor Superior Court. Her most important job though was being a mother, grandmother and friend.

Nadine was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Jack Raubuch, sister Margie Boardman, and daughter Jackie Moreno.

Nadine is survived by her sons Rick Raubuch of Westport and Stan Raubuch of Montesano, daughter-in-laws Susan and Julie Raubuch, grandchildren: Tricia Matisions of Aberdeen, Melissa Sorenson of Westport, Taylor Moreno of Washington, D.C. and John Raubuch of Montesano, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. And we cannot forget, her very best friend Miriam Mobray of Montesano.

Nadine’s celebration of life will be held on April 3 at the Montesano Moose at 1 p.m.
