Mike R. Anderson lived his life at the beach in Oyehut, and took advantage of all that it has to offer. He had a commercial fishing boat, the CVC and fished salmon and halibut from Ocean Shores to Newport, Oregon in the summer months.
Mike loved to hunt, fish and dig clams, claiming to be the fastest digger on the beach. He loved sports of all kinds and was on his high school golf team at Hoquiam High School. He was on a pool team, dart team, bowling team and always up for trying something new. He was a frequent player at casinos and loved numbers.
Mike is survived by his sister Carolyn Anderson and niece Sarah Flahaut both of Olympia. His mother Shirley (Joyce) Anderson preceded him in death. Mike took care of Joyce for the last 10 years of her life. Mike loved his dog Bubba, and claimed he was a school mascot. He also left behind his cat Stormy who was with him right up to the end.
Mike owned This and That Mopeds in Ocean Shores. Previously he has worked for the North Beach Medical Clinic, Holmberg Shake, Saltee Cedar and lastly The Harbor Learning Center from 2010- 2023. Mike was a member of the Ocean Shores Eagles and his memorial service will be held there July 15 from 1- 4 p.m. Please come share your memories with us.
