Michael A. Uffelman Sr. passed away suddenly March 3, 2021, at Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma, Washington. His children and grandchildren were there by his side. Mike was born Feb. 13, 1943, in Hanover, Pennsylvania, to Ralph Daniel and Ruth Uffelman.
Mike married Rose Uffelman Oct. 6, 1963. They lived in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, and later moved to Southern California in 1977 and in 1979 moved to Washington state, where they finished raising their children and were enjoying retirement until the passing of Rose in April of 2017. He also had a close friend, Donna Kietel that shared time with him recently.
Mike worked as a millwright for many years, traveling and working away from home in the early years. Once he moved the family to California and Washington he worked at local nuclear plants and other power plants locally. In the early ’80s he started his own remodeling and construction business with his son working with him for a few years. He later retired and both he and Rose then bought storage units and a four-plex that made for a comfortable retirement for them, living in Arizona for the winter months.
Mike enjoyed hunting, traveling, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He had five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his daughter Samantha (Bill) Dotson, son Michael (Andi) Uffelman, sisters: Penny (Skip) Orndorff, Pam (Jim) Poist and Pat (Jeff) Ammon, a brother Daniel (Gail) Uffelman and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
