Melva Marie Underwood of Montesano, Washington passed away on May 2, 2020, at Pacific Care in Aberdeen. Melva was born on Oct. 10, 1934, to Amy and Edgar Crane in Lebanon, South Dakota.

Melva Marie Underwood of Montesano, Washington passed away on May 2, 2020, at Pacific Care in Aberdeen. Melva was born on Oct. 10, 1934, to Amy and Edgar Crane in Lebanon, South Dakota.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Underwood; two sons Keith and Randy Prosch; brother, Don Crane and sister Beverly Brophy. She is survived by her sister, Rosalie Tyler of Arizona; daughters, Linda Prosch Anderson (Ernie) and Roxie Underwood both in Aberdeen and Vanessa Underwood (Theresa Peters) of Salem, Oregon and son, Richard Prosch (Kim Lewis) of Elma.

Melva leaves behind a plethora of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, an aunt, Marilee Lewis of Olympia and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Melva led an active social life and was an accomplished seamstress, quilter and loved to learn new skills. She was a skilled cook and baker and was famous in the family for her cinnamon rolls. Melva never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone in the grocery store line. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and remembered with great love and fondness.

A graveside service is to be determined in the future once quarantine is lifted.
