Maxine (McPherson) Borden was born on Dec. 24, 1919, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and passed away March 30, 2020, in Ocean Shores, Washington. She had recently celebrated her 100th birthday. She was one of five children. Maxine was married to Edwin (Eddie) Borden for 62 years and had three daughters, Bonita, Leslie and Christine, three granddaughters, one grandson and six great-grandchildren.

Maxine worked for the US Forest Service from 1965-1982. She and Eddie often visited Ocean Shores prior to building their home there 25 years ago. Maxine was a member of the Galilean Lutheran Church in Ocean Shores. She was an accomplished artist and painter who enjoyed walking on the beach and listening to the waves of the ocean and spending time with her friends and family.

The family would like to thank the numerous friends of Maxine’s who watched over her and tended to her needs making it possible for her to live by herself until her passing. You all are truly angels and the family appreciates all your hard work, care and love for her more than you all will ever know.

Memorial services for Maxine will be held at a future date due to the current Coronavirus Pandemic.
