Maurice ‘Morris’ Wayne Harmon

Maurice (Morris) Wayne Harmon passed away in his home on April 23, 2022, in Neilton.

Maurice (Morris) Wayne Harmon was born July 21, 1942, in Larsen Bay, Alaska. Morris passed away in his home on April 23, 2022, in Neilton, Washington from natural causes.

He is survived by his loving wife Cynthia Fay Harmon who was at his side when he passed. He has seven daughters: Mauricia (John) York — three children/three grandchildren; Carol (Bob) Young — two children/three grandchildren; Maurice Harmon Jr. and Kymberlie McKay — two children/five grandchildren; Kariena Nelson — three children/ three grandchildren; Treasura Thompson — two children; Daniel Harmon and D’annessa Tanner — two children; Anastasia Tanner — one child. Morris was one of 10 children. He was proceeded by five brothers: Alex, Ronnie, Mitch, Skipper and Daniel. He is survived by two brothers: Paul and James and two sisters: Rayna and Leanna.

Morris was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved playing pool. He started his career as a commercial fisherman in Alaska, then served in the U.S. Army and spent eight years in the Alaskan National Guard and worked as a welder and logger. What Morris felt was most important and what he loved and held dearly was his family, heritage and his religion.

There will be a memorial service for friends and family held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Coleman Mortuary located at 422 Fifth Street, Hoquiam; followed by a potluck gathering at the VFW Post 1135 at 405 7th St. Hoquiam.
