MaryLou Rochon, born Mary Lou Mouncer, peacefully transitioned to her new life in Heaven surrounded by family and loved ones on January 30th, 2024.

MaryLou Rochon, born Mary Lou Mouncer, peacefully transitioned to her new life in Heaven surrounded by family and loved ones on January 30th, 2024.

MaryLou’s sister Helen Todd and brother James Homer Mouncer both preceded her in death.

She attended Hunters Prairie Elementary school in Satsop, Washington and graduated from Elma High school.

MaryLou graduated from Western Washington University where she majored in English Literature and was a prolific writer and excelled in journalism.

While in college, she met her husband Dr. Louis F. Rochon, who preceded her to Heaven, and is fondly called “Bumps” by their Grand kids.

MaryLou loved to teach and did so as a Teacher in Oregon until she retired.

She was the cherished Mother of her two children, a son Randy L. Rochon of Puyallup, Washington and daughter Renee Lorraine Connon of Rochester, Washington.

Of her beloved grandchildren, she was preceded in death by Christopher N. Calhoun, son of Renee.

MaryLou is survived by her loving grandchildren Darin Hliboki, second son of Renee, and Randy’s children Dayne Rochon, Kacy Rochon and Cade Rochon. They all affectionately called MaryLou “MooMa.”

MaryLou is a Great Grandmother to KayDee Hliboki, Riley Rochon and Paxton Rochon.

MaryLou was actively involved with and served in her church. She was a leader in Christian Women’s Ministries and led the widowed women’s club at Westwood Baptist Church in Olympia, Washington for over 25 years.

She was also active in the Cub Scouts and was a 4H leader.

MaryLou loved her vintage hat and fashion shows.

She loved to go on drives and explore new places.

MaryLou loved the beach and the views of Mt. Rainier (when visible) from her home on Puget Sound in Olympia, Washington. Which she shared with her beloved pup Charlie.

MaryLou absolutely adored her family and many close friends and LOVED GOD.

A Celebration of MaryLou’s life will be held at Westwood Baptist Church, 333 Kaiser Road NW, Olympia on March 23rd, 11:00 a.m.
