Mary P. Mihovilich, age 93, a lifetime resident of the Harbor, died on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020, at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam. She was born at the family home on State Street in Aberdeen on July 2, 1926, to Anton and Karla (Rumac) Mihovilich. She lived there nearly all her life.
In 1944, she graduated from Weatherwax High School. After that, she attended Grays Harbor Junio College, then worked in the office at Wolf’s department store in Aberdeen until its closure. Mary then worked as an office manager for the Aberdeen School District for over 33 years.
She had been a lifetime member of St. Mary Catholic Church and loved traveling.
Surviving relatives include her brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Arlene Mihovilich of Hoquiam; a nephew and his wife, John and Darla Mihovilich of Brier, Washington; one niece, Janet Pellegrini of Indio, California; a great-nephew, James Mihovilich of Everett, and a great great-niece, Madelyn Mihovilich of Everett.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by a great-nephew, Brendon Mihovilich.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to St. Mary’s School, 514 North H Street, Aberdeen, WA, 98520; the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601; or to a charity of your choice.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, at St. Mary Catholic Church, followed by a reception in the church hall. Entombment will be at 2 p.m that day at the Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen.
