Mary Louise Shook, 85, a Central Park resident and homemaker, died Dec. 17, 2018, at her home.

Mary Louise Shook, 85, a Central Park resident and homemaker, died Dec. 17, 2018, at her home. Mary was born on Aug. 30, 1933, in Aberdeen to Calvin and Esther (Axland) Teman. She graduated from Aberdeen’s Weatherwax High School in 1951. And on Nov. 16, 1951, she married Harold Shook in Aberdeen. He passed away on Nov. 10, 2008.

She was a housewife raising her family and from 1975 to 1990, she was a dispatcher for the Carpenters Local #317.

Mary volunteered at the local clothing bank and worked with Feed The Hungry at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen. She enjoyed needle work, watching the Seahawk’s and Mariner’s. Camping in the San Juan’s and being with her grandchildren. They called her “Gramma Sweetheart”.

She was a member of the Central Park Baptist Church and she met monthly with some of her classmates from the AHS Class of 1951.

Mary is survived by a son Tom (Paula) Shook of Surprise, Arizona and a daughter Connie (Rory) Barreith of Cour d’Alene, Idaho; five grandsons; five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Jim Teman.

There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, March 23, at 11 a.m. at the Central Park Baptist Church. A private internment took place at Fern Hill Cemetery in Aberdeen.
