Marvin Eugene Kelly, 90, of Clearwater, Washington passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025.

Marvin Eugene Kelly, 90, of Clearwater, Washington passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, at his daughter’s home in Aberdeen, Washington, where he’s lived for the past two years. Born on Feb. 27, 1935, in Hoquiam, Washington, to Arthur and Frances (Scheely-Galloway) Kelly. Marvin was raised in the Clearwater area, and graduated from Lake Quinault High School in 1953. He was drafted into the military and served a couple years in the Army. Then, went on to become a logger, working with various logging outfits. He became business partners with Larry Peterson and together they owned and operated “K&P Cutting”. He was well known for being an exceptional timber faller throughout the years. Marvin was a volunteer firefighter and a member of the Lions Club. He was also involved with 4-H and the Saddle Club, which he ran out of his home for a short time.

Marvin had two previous marriages prior to marrying Betty Thomas on June 10, 1971, where he became a step-father to nine children that he raised as his own. The family resided in Clearwater on his beautiful farm. He loved the farming life, raising cattle and putting up hay each year through the valley. Marvin also had a love for gardening, where excelled and took great pride in his amazing garden, as he did with all things. After retirement, Marvin had fun mowing lawns up and down the valley on his riding lawn mower. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved nature. He set up trail cams and was always excited to watch the wildlife. He had a wonderful group of friends, for whom he cared deeply. He was a kind and thoughtful man who will be missed by all those lucky enough to have been part of his life.

Marvin was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Kelly; parents, Arthur and Frances Kelly; brother, John Wesley Kelly, and Stepchildren: Dale and Doris Thomas.

Marvin is survived by his step-children: David, Danny, Donny, Debbie, Darleen, Doreen, and Deanna; Nephew, Wesley Kelly; Nieces: Melody and Melissa; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

A potluck celebration of Marvin’s life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. located at the Lions Club in Cosmopolis, Washington. The family invites you to bring your favorite dish.
