Marty Joe Christiansen, 58, Aberdeen resident, died Jan. 18, 2020, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital, due to illness.

Marty was born Dec. 22, 1961, in Centralia, Washington, to Robert and Darlene Christensen. He grew up in Washington and Oregon. When he got older he lived mostly in Vancouver, where he married his soul mate and raised their kids.

Marty married Toni Claypoole Dec. 31, 1994, in Vancouver. Together they had one son, Jacob Christensen. Marty had one daughter, Shannon, that Toni and Marty raised together in Vancouver. Unfortunately in 2001, Marty and Toni decided to divorce. They remained good friends over the years.

Marty was an outgoing, some say outspoken, adventurer. Things were his way or hit the highway! He was a self-employed mechanic, salesman, trucker and antique collector. When the children were younger and the family was all together in Vancouver, Marty and Toni also owned and operated a trucking company called Christensen Transport. Marty also enjoyed his motorcycles (hog cruisers), cruising the riverside — letting the wind blow through his hair and in his face made him feel alive

Marty was a loving, caring father, husband and friend. He would do anything to take care of the ones closest to him. He will be deeply missed by all.

Marty is preceeded in death by his father Robert Christensen, mother and stepfather Darlene and Sonny Jackson, brothers Dennis and Bob Christensen and stepbrother Don Christensen. He is survived by his children, Jacob Christensen of Washington, daughter Shannon (Jeff) Christensen of Montana, grandchildren Hendrix Doney, Desarae, Jeffrey and Tyrus Seymour, all of Montana, brother Jim Christensen of Aberdeen, stepbrother Duane Christensen of Washington, stepsister Joanie Gullen, also numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

You may be gone, but never forgotten. This is not goodbye forever, but goodbye for now.

Love always, Bug
