Mark Van Hess, 69, passed peacefully in his sleep at Montesano Health & Rehab, Montesano, Washington, on Jan. 19, 2022. He was born Feb. 21, 1952, in Hamilton, Montana, to Vernon and Veronica Van Hess.

He graduated from Weatherwax High School, Aberdeen, in 1970, and had a career as a heavy equipment operator. As a hobby, he enjoyed fully restoring antique tractors.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Peter and Jan. He is survived by sisters Shelly Swenson (Leith) and Gina Van Hess (Don White), sister-in-law Susan Hile-Van Hess, six nephews, one niece, and long-time friends Robin and Peggy Winsley.

A gathering of friends and family to share memories will be announced at a later date.
