Marion Jeannette Chapin, 77, of Cosmopolis, passed away peacefully on Jan. 31, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, with her family by her side.

Marion was born in Aberdeen, Washington, Jan. 14, 1943, to Herbert and Ardene Holmes. Marion was preceded in death by both her parents and younger brother Norman. Marion will always be remembered by her loving husband of 58 years, Evert (Jim) Chapin, daughter Renee Fisher and sons Jimmy Chapin and Curtis Chapin, 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

She grew up in Cosmopolis and graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1961. She was a lifelong member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Aberdeen. She loved baking wedding cakes, sewing, gardening and vacationing in Hawaii. Her most precious and proudest family tradition for 30 years is our yearly family gathering at Eagle Crest. More than anything she loved being a part of her grandchildren’s lives, day in and day out. She kept her family at the forefront of everything she did. Her home was always alive with beautiful floral decorations and always the gathering place for any celebration. Family and friends meant the world to Marion. She touched the hearts of many; so generous, passionate and caring. Her memories, laughs, hugs and love will truly be missed.

A memorial service will take place at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Aberdeen, Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020 at 10 a.m. In lieu of gifts, please contribute to St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Aberdeen.
