Marion “Bud” Alonzo Davis of Montesano passed away peacefully on May 31, 2017.

Marion “Bud” Alonzo Davis of Montesano passed away peacefully on May 31, 2017. He was born April 25, 1932, in Shady Valley, Tenn. to Elmer and Grace (Neely) Davis.

He was raised in the Wishkah Valley and graduated from Wishkah Valley High School. While growing up Bud had a pet bear named Mike who rode in the car with him to town and they also fished together; until Mike got too big and had to be released.

Bud enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1952 and proudly served during the Korean Conflict, Vietnam era and retired in 1972.

Following his military career he worked for the U.S. Post Office.

On Aug. 3, 1957, Bud married Beverly Berry at the Satsop church, Beverly passed in 1957. On June 10, 1978, he married Edna Waters at the Baptist Church in Seattle, Edna passed away in 2008. He is survived by his significate other Darlene Akers.

Bud was a member of the Elma Missionary Alliance Church, Montesano VFW and the Satsop Grange. He enjoyed Tin Can Reunions, traveling, watching westerns, gardening and above all spending time with his family.

Bud is survived by his four sons Michael (Tami) Davis, Bruce (Kim) Davis, Gary (Renee’) Davis and Brent (Gail) Waters, two daughters, Lynn (Pat) Gould and Donna (Steve) Tindall, brothers Elmer “Buck” Davis and John Davis also his sisters June Brooks and Barbara Swinhart; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life is planned for 12 p.m. on Friday, June 9, at the Missionary Alliance Church located at 315 N. 3rd St. in Elma, followed by a luncheon. A Graveside service at Satsop Cemetery will follow at 4 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Harrison Family Mortuary of Montesano.
