Marguerite May Marshall of Elma passed away on Jan. 17, 2025, at the age of 99. She was born on Sept. 12, 1925 in Satsop to parents William Borden and Alta (Caley) Borden. She was a 1943 graduate of Elma High School and later went on to work for WPPSS and the Elma School District. She was a member of the Rebekah’s and also the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed arts and crafts, participating in 4-H, gardening, and taking care of the 50+ children she fostered over the years.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Jhanson of Elma; Harley Jhanson of Machias, Maine; and Wesley Jhanson of Elma; daughter Shirley Spencer-Hensley of Elma; 21 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 48 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Ogden Jhanson and Garth Marshall; parents William and Alta (Caley) Borden; sons Oliver, Randy, Leonard, and Robbie Jhanson; daughters Dolly Jhanson and Phoebe Deibert; brothers Edward, Clifton, John, Delmar, Charles, and Richard Borden; and sisters Charlotte Mann, Catherine Williamson, and Dolly Arnold.
Anyone that wishes to make a donation in memory of Marguerite is asked to donate to the diabetes, cancer, or heart association of their choosing.
The burial took place at the Satsop Cemetery on Feb. 7.
