Margaret Pettis (Hamilton)

Margaret Pettis (Hamilton) passed away on Feb. 9, 2022, at the age of 88.

Margaret Pettis (Hamilton) was born in Aberdeen, Washington in October 1933. She passed away on Feb. 9, 2022, at the age of 88.

In August of 1949, Margaret married the love of her life, Archie Pettis. Together they had three daughters and family was everything to them.

Margaret was a well-loved woman who made friends wherever she went. She loved her family, her friends, her flowers and her Lord.

Margaret was known for her green thumb, for her amazing clam digging skills, her unrivaled clam chowder and mostly for her love of people.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Blanche and Stanton Hamilton, her beloved mother-in-law Iva Pettis and her brothers Vaughn, Gene and David Hamilton. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Archie; her daughters Donna (Bill) Olson, Kathie (Sherman) Bailey and Vickie Pettis; grandchildren Christian (Jessica) Olson, Andrea (Christopher) Kochrian and Joshua (Trina) Roy, as well as six great-grandchildren that she dearly loved. She is also survived by her sisters of the heart, Gail (Jerry) Shoemaker and Barbara (Pete) Bowdish, and her brother Jimmy (Cheryl) Hamilton.

Margaret was laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held to remember this remarkable and loving woman at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the Copalis Crossing Assembly of God Church, 1579 Ocean Beach Road, Hoquiam, Washington.

Arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
