Lifelong Elma resident Lynn Anna (Butz) Bickford passed away at her home on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021.

Lifelong Elma resident Lynn Anna (Butz) Bickford passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021. She was born June 30, 1946, in Elma, Washington to Theodore and Vera (Briggs) Butz.

Lynn was raised in Elma and graduated from Elma High School and DeWitt’s Beauty School. She was a self-employed salon owner for over 40 years.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lynn enjoyed gardening, crafts, painting and many other pastimes that beautified her home and yard. She loved spending time with her family and was particularly grateful for the time she had with her grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and laughed easily.

Lynn is survived by her children: Marcie Mills Sample, Jillanna Bickford, Robin (Dan) Starks, Scott (Pam) Thompson, all of Elma; Neil (Theresa) Bickford of Spanaway; Brent (Brandy) Avery of Olympia and Owen (Lora) Bickford of Shoreline; 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and a third due any day.

She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore and Vera Butz, brothers Ron and Ted Butz and her sister Anita Butz Hoffer.

A private graveside service took place Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, at Elma Masonic Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Elma Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for family only.
