Lydia Chua Juarez, born Oct. 20, 1920, in Talisay, Negros Occidental, Philippines, to Manuel and Josefa Galmatico Chua, died June 2, 2017, in Aberdeen, Wash. She married Moises Tinaytina Juarez in 1946 in Negros, Philippines.

Lydia Chua Juarez, born Oct. 20, 1920, in Talisay, Negros Occidental, Philippines, to Manuel and Josefa Galmatico Chua, died June 2, 2017, in Aberdeen, Wash. She married Moises Tinaytina Juarez in 1946 in Negros, Philippines. Lydia was a resident of Aberdeen since 1948. She was hardworking, steadfast and a caring matriarch to her large, extended family, and was known for her excellent cooking and homemaking.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Moises (1980), her brother, Enrique (“Eking”), and her son, Edward (1951). Surviving are her children Moises, Benny (Arlana), Janice (Robin), and Ken; her grandchildren, Jarrah (Tom), Moises, Ben (Brittany), Kris, Amanda, Kristeen (Kameron), Niko, Jordan, and Danya; and her great-granddaughters Kamilla, Olive, and Harmony, along with numerous other very special family members and friends.

There will be a time of visitation and viewing on Friday, June 16, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Wash.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 16, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Aberdeen. Entombment will follow at Fern Hill Mausoleum.
