Lonnie Eldon Romine, 52, Montesano resident and Planerman at Sierra Pacific Industries, died Oct. 11, 2018, at Thompson Peak Medical Center in Scottsdale, Ariz. while fighting cancer.

Lonnie Eldon Romine, 52, Montesano resident and planerman at Sierra Pacific Industries, died Oct. 11, 2018, at Thompson Peak Medical Center in Scottsdale, Ariz., while fighting cancer.

Lonnie was born on Aug. 8, 1966, in Liberal, Kan., to Eldon and Suzanne Romine. He spent his childhood in Liberal and then his family moved to Kelseyville, Calif., and then to Red Bluff, where he graduated from Red Bluff High School in 1985.

Lonnie went to work for Sierra Pacific Industries in Richfield, Calif. He would later transfer to the Aberdeen mill to help get it operational. He worked for Sierra Pacific for 29 years.

On Feb. 18, 1989, Lonnie married Janette L. Hartsell in Red Bluff, Calif. She resides at the family home in Montesano.

Lonnie enjoyed the great outdoors. He loved riding his dirt bike, fishing, hunting and camping.

Lonnie is survived by his wife of 29 years, Janette Romine of Montesano; three sons: Logan (Stephaine) Romine, Jake Romine and Devin Romine all of Montesano; mother and step-father, Suzanne (Steve) Romine-Bates of Montesano; a sister, Heather (Tony) Romine-Kitchen of Red Bluff, Calif. Lonnie was preceded in death by his father, Eldon Romine.

There will be a graveside service for Lonnie on Friday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m. at Wynooche Cemetery in Montesano, Wash.
