Loleta Lillian Schneider passed away at her home in Elma on Feb. 15, 2025, at the age of 80.

Loleta Lillian Schneider passed away at her home in Elma on Feb. 15, 2025, at the age of 80.

She was born on Aug. 24, 1944, in Reno, Nevada to parents Maier John Rothschild and Eva Juanita Holeman. She married Harold Schneider in 1969 in Stockton, California. She was raised in Modesto, California and graduated from Modesto High School. She worked as the head chef at The Beehive Retirement Community in McCleary, Washington from 1984 to 1994. She was a member of the Church of God in Elma and often volunteered with the Elma Senior Center and for the Elma Elementary School PTA. She enjoyed quilting, ceramics, making porcelain dolls, sewing, gardening, collecting snowmen, spending time with family, playing card games with friends, and monthly lunch dates with her daughters.

Loleta is survived by her son, Vincent (Peggy) Tyner of Elma; her daughters, Bobbi Doyle and Dallas (Harold) Smiley, of Elma; sisters, Kathryn Ford of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Eve Rothschild of Elma; grandchildren: Thaddeus Mashek, Harold Schneider, Austin Tyner, Cassandra Boyer, Aaron Smiley, and Joe Smiley; and her great-grandchildren, Carson Schneider, Lennon Rae Mashek, and Lexi Dorman.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Schneider; parents, Maier and Eva (Holeman) Rothchild; brother John Rothschild; and her twin sister, Linda Gentry.

At the family’s request, memorial donations can be made to the Church of God in Elma, Washington, in care of Pastor Bill Shepard.
