Lois Mary Willis passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at the Beehive in McCleary, Washington.

Lois Mary Willis passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at the Beehive in McCleary, Washington. She was 91 years old.

Lois was born to Edwin and Agnes Schlotman in Everett, Washington, on Sept. 1, 1928. She was raised in Everett until her mother was remarried to Clinton Drake; then they moved to Montesano and lived on the Middle Satsop.

Lois attended Montesano High School, where she met Howard C. Willis. After graduating with the Class of 1946, she continued her education at Grays Harbor College, earning her AA degree in accounting. Lois and Howard were then married on Aug. 13, 1949. They lived on a dairy farm in Brady until Howard passed away in 1994. Lois then moved to her new home in Montesano.

After receiving her degree, Lois worked as an accountant for Preszler, Larner, Mertz & Co. in Aberdeen, Washington; at Aiken & Sanders in Montesano for 25 years; and at Valu Drug in Montesano until she retired in 2006.

Lois is survived by two children, Gregory (Terry) Willis of Brady, Washington, and Judith (Terry) Felton of Montesano, as well as eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Willis; daughter Janel (Gaylon) Boley; brother George Schlotman; sister Margaret Gibson; and stepbrothers Karl Drake and Clinton Drake.
