Leon Eugene Esterbrook

Leon Eugene Esterbrook was born Oct. 1, 1940, to Eugene Esterbrook and Lucille Field and passed away June 24, 2022.

Leon Eugene Esterbrook was born Oct. 1, 1940, to Eugene Esterbrook and Lucille Field and passed away June 24, 2022. He graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1958 and married his high school sweetheart, Jeanette Neal, the same year. After graduation he was in the Navy stationed on the USS Firedrake AE14 for two years.

After being discharged from the Navy, Leon worked for ITT Rayonier until starting several businesses including Industrial Hydraulics and Coast Marine in Aberdeen. He was also the owner of Westside Napa while developing and building Bay Storage and later Bayside Business Park in Olympia.

Along with his wife, he restored the Cooney Mansion in Cosmopolis to its original glory where he raised his family, later turning the national historical site into a bed and breakfast. Leon is survived by his wife Jeanette; daughters Debi Thompson (husband Ron Thompson) and Cyndi Swearingen; sisters Sue Downeyand Charlotte Ramsdell; brother Ray Ramsdell; grandchildren Brandon and Ryan Thompson, Britni Owens, Shane Swearingen and Devyn Buma; great- grandchildren Rocco, Boston, Carson, and Jax Thompson; Russell Owens; and Lyla, and Beau Buma. He is preceded in death by both his parents and daughter Vikki Esterbrook.

Leon’s funeral services will be held on Aug. 2, 2022, at 12 p.m. at Harrison Family Mortuary in Aberdeen. Graveside services for immediate family to follow.
