Laura Lela Hagara, a longtime resident of Junction City, died at Grays Harbor Community Hospital, Aberdeen, Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018. She was 92 years old.
Laura was born in Starbuck, Wash., Nov. 4, 1926, the daughter of Clyde Edison and Laura Elizabeth (Brittain) Kellogg. The family lived at Starbuck for several years before coming to Junction City near Aberdeen. She had worked at The Daily World in her younger years, but after her marriage to John Francis Hagara she became a homemaker and a mother. Mr. Hagara died in 1992.
Laura was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Aberdeen, and loved her family and animals.
She is survived by two daughters: Janet (Steve) Wykoff and Patty (Stan) Cleverly, both of Aberdeen; two sons: John (Kim) Hagara, Central Park and Gregory Hagara, Aberdeen; eight grandchildren: John Hagara, Katie (Steve) Hagara-Smith, Brooke (Jeff) Hagara-Compton, Gregory Hagara, Frank Willis, Amber (Nate) Thomas, Aaron (Hannah) Cleverly and Aric (Ashlee) Cleverly; and six great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Carl, Clair and Robert Kellogg; and two sisters: Irene and Vida Hagara.
At her request there will be no formal services. She will be placed with her husband, John, in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen.
