Larry A. Carlson passed away April 26, 2020, in Seattle. He was born Aug. 19, 1947, in Raymond, Washington, to Robert and Berniece H. (Kophs) Carlson.
The family moved to Montesano in 1952. Larry graduated from Montesano High School in 1965. Then attended Grays Harbor College before enlisting in the Air Force in 1966.
He served in Okinawa, Korea and coastal Oregon. After discharge, Larry attended the University of Washington. He worked in the industrial bearings industry for several years for Bearings Inc., McGuire Bearing and Kaman Bearing.
He married Emily Bui on July 17, 1982. They resided many years on Vashon’s Maury Island. He commuted to work in Seattle for years on his motorcycles to ease ferry traveling. The family then moved to Seattle in 2003 to open a Baskin-Robbins business. He enjoyed the Seattle live music scene, hiking, the hydro races and taking motorcycle road trips.
He is survived by his wife Emily, sons Cameron (Shahida) and Aaron all of Seattle, brothers Steve (Marie) Carlson of Sequim and Ken (Sue) Carlson of Montesano.
A private family service will take place at a later date.
