Kenneth Alan Person, known as Ken, left this earth on May 29, 2017, to be with his wife Pam and his son Stephen.
Ken was born in Spokane, Wash., on Nov. 1, 1957, but later moved with the family to Oregon. Shortly after high school he joined the Marines. He found that the military life agreed with him and he continued down this path until he retired from the National Guard in 2010.
His long military career allowed him to spend time in Japan, Germany and visit many other places along the way and to develop his passion for cooking.
While on this journey he married Patty and his son Stephen was born a few years later in 1985.
Settling in Seaside they raised Stephen and Patti’s daughter Angella. This close proximity to the ocean, creeks, canals and rivers allowed Ken to indulge in his hobby of fishing and pass this love on to Stephen as well.
A few years later Ken met his soul mate Pam, they moved to the Hood Canal area in Washington, where they were married prior to purchasing their home in Ocean Shores.
It was here that Pam passed away in 2007 and Ken followed her this Memorial Day weekend.
He was also predeceased by his parents Lee and Jean Person.
Ken is survived by his sisters, Anne (Don), Katy (Frank), and Marcia (Jonathan). He is also survived by five nieces, three nephews and his beloved Katee-Dog.
We would like to thank Ken’s neighbors and friends who over the years helped him in so many ways to have the best life possible. You all made his life a much happier and better place and your thoughtful gestures and kindnesses will always be remembered.
