Kathryn “Deniese” (Haapanen) Rainey Guinn, age 73, passed away Dec. 28, 2024, in Alamogordo, New Mexico with her companion Bruce Harmon by her side.

Kathryn “Deniese” (Haapanen) Rainey Guinn, age 73, passed away Dec. 28, 2024, in Alamogordo, New Mexico with her companion Bruce Harmon by her side.

She was born Oct. 2, 1951, in Aberdeen, Washington to parents Eldon “Bodie” and Margaret (Belinger) Haapanen, who are now deceased. Raised in Porter, Washington, Deniese graduated from Elma High School with the class of 1969.

She married Karl Rainey and they moved to Lester, Washington then to Axford Prairie. They had a daughter Karla Lengyel of Lakewood, Washington and a son Shannon (Alyssa) Rainey of Wishkah, Washington.

They divorced.

Deniese later married Dwayne Guinn of Woodland, Washington.

After Dwayne’s passing, Deniese lived in Chehalis, Montesano and Aberdeen.

In 2018 she moved to Alamordo, New Mexico to be with Bruce.

She is survived by her daughter and son, companion Bruce, two sisters Julie (Dick) Sisk of Elma and Connie Haapanen; two brothers Randy Haapanen and Nik (Shirley) Haapenen, all of Porter; seven grandchildren: Addison, McKenna and Piper Rainey all of Wishkah; Kendra (Anna) Oakley and Devin Lengyel of Michigan and Faith and Jeremiah Norton of Puyallup, Washington; great-granddaughter Aizlyn Oakley of Michigan and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private family gathering was held for her.
