Karen Cahier Woll was born June 21, 1934, daughter to Gustaf Cahier and Lillian Hall Cahier.

She was raised in Aberdeen, Washington, where she married Art Woll and had three children. They moved to Northern Virginia in 1963.

Karen worked at the Washington Post in classifieds. She was also active in the Newspaper Guild.

Karen passed away on Jan. 27, 2021, at age 86.

She is survived by daughters Gretchen Caplinger and Lillian Fitzgerald; son Alan Woll (Kathie); grandchildren: Kathleen Fitzgerald (Erik Blum), Ray Fitzgerald Jr. ( Keriann Cassidy), Gabe Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Woll; and great-grandchildren: Elise Fitzgerald and Paige Fitzgerald.
