Judith Norine “Judy” (Burlingame) Parker, 74 years of age, died on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, at her home in Carlisle, Wash. She was born on July 1, 1942, in Aberdeen to Theodore Lewis and Ruth C. (Bell) Burlingame. She had attended Moclips schools and graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1960.
On June 10, 1960, Emmett Clare Parker and Judy Burlingame were married in Aberdeen. The couple made their home in Carlisle. She had worked in local canneries and various shake and shingle mills, until she and Clare opened CJ Cedar Products in 1984 and operated it until 2003.
Judy’s family was of utmost importance to her. She enjoyed spending time with them clam digging, cooking and baking, and mending anything they dropped by. In addition she was involved in her community, having volunteered for Copalis Crossing Food Bank; supported the Pacific Beach and Copalis Crossing Fire Departments and baked goods for the county workers.
She had been a member of the Pacific Beach Quilters, the American Heroes Quilters, the Thursday Quilting Group in Aberdeen, and quilted for Native Cancer Survivors with the Quinault Nation Quilters.
Relatives include her daughter, Janet Parker of Copalis Crossing, Wash.; a son, Donald Parker (Dana) of Washougal, Wash.; grandchildren, Corrisa Navarro (Joe) of Tigard, Ore., Bryan Rose (Kari) of Tigard, Ore., Chris Lingo (Ashley) of Stanwood, Bradley Parker of Everett, and Jordan Parker of Washougal; a great-granddaughter, Emi Lingo; four brothers, Duane Burlingame of Sumner, Arnold Burlingame of Cedarville, Wash., Jim Burlingame of Hoquiam and Tim Burlingame of Hoquiam; a sister, Charleen Burlingame of Humptulips, Wash. ad other relatives.
In addition to her husband, Emmett Clare Parker, who died on September 10, 2002, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Howard Burlingame and two sisters, Gwen Hair and Denise Pierce.
A celebration of life/potluck lunch is being planned for Saturday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m., at the Pacific Beach Fire Hall.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Pacific Beach Quilters or the Copalis Crossing or Pacific Beach Fire Departments.
Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
