Judith Ellen Schaben (Hubble)

Judith Ellen Schaben (Hubble) passed away on Feb. 15, 2025, at the age of 82. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to many.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years Larry Schaben, daughter Kathryn Skolrood (Russ), sons Michael and Kevin, sister Joan Johannes, nieces Susan Zabiaka (Mike) and Julie Ann Becker, grandnieces JoLee Carter (Jeff) and Alli Zabiaka; and six grandchildren: Joshua Schaben (Rikki), Dynae Schaben, Katelynn Berglund(Jason), Kyelle Serafin (Fermin), Myka Schaben, and Kolby Skolrood;and six great-grandchildren.

She was born in 1942 in Aberdeen, Washington to Hill and Kathryn Hubble. Judy graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1960, where she met her husband Larry (HHS class of ’58). They were married in 1962 in Hoquiam, where they lived and raised their three children. Upon retirement they moved to Shelton, Washington.

She was an incredible cook, loved gardening and decorating her home. She and Larry spent several years traveling across the country, particularly enjoying winters in Lake Havasu.

There will not be a service, per her wishes, but the family encourages donations to the American Red Cross. Blood donations allowed us to have 10 additional years with Judy, so if you are able to donate blood, please save a life. You truly can make a difference.
