Juanita Gail Benzing went to be with the Lord on Jan. 6, 2019.

A resident of Aberdeen for 27 years, she was 72. Born Aug. 7, 1946, in Confluence, Kentucky, to Brack and Jane Deaton.

In 1964 she graduated from Garfield Senior High School. She married Jerrold Ray Benzing Sr. on Aug. 29, 1964, in Hamilton, Ohio. He passed away in February 2001.

Juanita was a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Choosing to serve her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in all aspects of her life.

She was active in her local church. Serving her community through Christian Women’s Fellowship, International Chapter PEO Sisterhood, and the Group Home Association. Over the years she took in 11 foster children.

Shopping, movies, traveling, dining out, family gathers, going to the beach, and making new friends brought joy to her life. She was always ready for a new challenge.

Juanita is survived by her son Jerrold Ray Benzing II and wife Becky of Montesano; daughter Jeanneane Haley and husband Daniel of Athen, Arizona; brother Dean Deaton; Sister Stella Hammons; grandchildren William Haley (Jenny), Matthew Haley, Joshua Haley all of Spokane and Cooper Benzing of Montesano; great-grandchildren Isaac and Elianna Haley; and her friend Mark Arnold of Aberdeen who was like a son to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother JB Deaton.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 2, 2019, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Hoquiam. Kent Gravley will be officiating.
