Joylene Marie (Bosler) Moe, 85, joined her family in heaven Saturday, March 19, 2022.
Joylene was born at home on March 20, 1936, in Atwood, Kansas to Raymond and Ezelle (Loker) Bosler. The family moved to Washington when Joylene was four years old, eventually working as dairy farmers in Cedarville and Porter. Joylene attended Oakville High School, where she participated in cheer, drama and student government. She graduated Salutatorian in 1954.
Joylene married Fredrik Moe Nov. 17, 1956, at the First Methodist Church in Elma. They lived in Oakville for nine years before moving to Centralia with their children, Fredrik Ray and Janice. Freddie was born with special needs and both Fred and Joylene did everything possible to enrich his life and include him in family activities, especially enjoying trips to Disneyland. Joylene was a loving and devoted mother to Janice and delighted in her three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Fred and Joylene owned and operated Fred B. Moe Logging Company. In the early years, Joylene did many parts runs, drove pilot car and did the bookkeeping. After hiring a full-time office manager, Joylene continued to assist with payroll. Fred and Joylene moved back to Oakville in 1990. They were married 60 years.
Joylene’s hobbies throughout the years included bowling, textile painting, crocheting, playing her organ and piano, growing beautiful flowers and riding her four-wheeler. She also loved traveling with friends and family members. Hospitality was a special gift, and she excelled at making her guests feel welcome. She was a wonderful cook and loved to bake cookies for her family, church activities and local fire department. She loved celebrating and decorating for Christmas. She will be remembered as a joyful, enthusiastic and giving person.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fredrik; son, Fredrik Ray; sister, Marilyn McMaster; and brother, Darrell Bosler.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice (Harvey) Hamilton, Oakville; granddaughter, Jolynn Amrine, Oakville; grandsons, Quentin (Terra) Hamilton, Rochester and Barron “Fredrik” (Joao Skylar) Hamilton, Olympia; three great-grandchildren, Theodore Goertz, Eleanor Goertz and Westyn Hamilton; sister, Linda (Tom) Easton, Elma; sister-in-law, Betty Bosler, Oakville; and many nieces and nephews who have fond memories of Aunt Joylene. After the passing of Joylene’s mother, her father married Evelyn Kepper. Also surviving are Evelyn’s daughters, Karen (Jerry) Wagner, Eagle, Idaho and Kay (Dale) Harris, Centralia. She is also remembered by many dear friends.
Joylene was solid in her faith and had a lifelong Christian testimony. A member of Mt. View Baptist Church since 1971, she attended faithfully and served in various capacities including Sunday school teacher, choir member, Vacation Bible School helper, Deaconess, and Financial Secretary. Joylene and Fred often hosted church events in their home.
