Jon Kent Black, born on November 14th, 1942, in Wichita, Kansas, peacefully passed away on November 25th, 2023, at his Artic, Washington home. Born to Norman and Betty Black, Jon served his country as an Air Force Veteran and dedicated many years to Weyerhaeuser in Aberdeen, holding various positions until his retirement.

In Montesano, he married Marie A Southard, and despite her passing in March 2010, their love remains a cherished memory. Jon was a devoted father to Sheri Kelley, Mark Black, Cheryl Black, and James Black. Sadly, Cheryl left us in March 2012. He also remembered his brothers, Mark S Black, who bravely fell in Vietnam, Norman (Butch) Black, his sister Susan, and later found companionship with Billie Holmes, whom he married in April 2013.

Residing in Artic with Billie whom he loved and adored until his final days, Jon will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and brother. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his friends and family, as they fondly reflect on the warmth and love he shared throughout his life.

A celebration of life is being planned for February 24th, 2024 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Montesano City Hall.
