John Robert Poisal passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at his Aberdeen home. John was born in Baltimore, Md., on April 19, 1958, to Wayne and Lorraine Poisal. He grew up and attended school in Glen Burnie, Md. In 1975, John enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed at Quantico, Va. He served his reserves out of Annapolis, Md. After the navy John moved back to Glen Burnie, started a family and began working for Chicago Metallic out of Baltimore.

John moved his family to the Aberdeen area in the late 1990s. He was employed by Weyerhaeuser and attended Grays Harbor College. He later moved to Marysville, Wash. where he worked as a welder. Several years later he returned to the Aberdeen area. At the time of his passing he worked for Pierce County Security.

John looked forward to his weekly shopping trips with his daughter, loved his job, enjoyed motorcycles and reading or studying anything that brought him closer to God. His favorite verse read: Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

John is survived by his children Robert and Christina Poisal of Marysville and Kathryn Poisal of Aberdeen; sisters Jennifer Whitted of Seattle and Roxanne Richardson of Aberdeen; and granddaughter Avery Poisal. He was preceded in death by his parents Wayne Poisal and Lorraine Heath.
