Montesano resident John “Jack” Ball passed away Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, at home. He was 91.

Jack was born Oct. 24, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan to Stella Welty and John Ball. He grew up in Bremerton and moved to Montesano in 1960.

He had worked at Grisdale Logging Camp and at Bangor Naval Base before retiring from Weyerhaeuser in 1994.

Jack had been a member of the Eagles and enjoyed traveling, bowling, camping and the outdoors.

He married Beverly Harrington in Seattle in 1959. She passed away in 2000.

He was preceded in death by his son Brett Ball, brother Eldon Ball and sister Betty Ball.

He is survived by his son Shawn Ball; grandchildren Dale Ball, Shawn Ball Jr., Brian Ball and Ali Ball; and great-grandchildren Rory, Finnian, Asyla, Lukas, Astrid, Kelby, Tristan and Killian.
