Joe L. Henkelman, 70, of Ocean Shores, Washington, passed away peacefully on Oct. 3, 2025, at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam.

Joe L. Henkelman, 70, of Ocean Shores, Washington, passed away peacefully on Oct. 3, 2025, at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam.

Born on July 11, 1955, in Enumclaw, Washington, Joe grew up in Puyallup and graduated from Puyallup High School in 1973. He went on to build a long and successful career as a truck driver, working in the transportation industry for 47 years before retiring in 2021. A proud member of the Teamsters, Joe was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and dedication to his craft.

On Sept. 22, 1979, Joe married the love of his life, Leila Henkelman, in Federal Way, Washington. Together they shared 46 years of marriage filled with laughter, adventure, and countless memories. Joe and Leila made their home in Ocean Shores for the past decade, where they enjoyed the coastal life and time spent with family and friends.

Joe had a deep love for traveling, camping, and cruising, and he never passed up an opportunity to listen to his favorite artist, George Strait.

Joe is survived by his wife Leila Henkelman, who resides at the family home; mother Eileen Henkelman of Milton, Washington; daughters Amy Wilde of Orlando, Florida and Caitie Wilde of Ocean Shores, Washington; sister Jill Schlitzbaum of Edgewood, Washington; as well as eight grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Norman Henkelman.
