Jerry Clayton Hood

June 15, 1955-August 4, 2021

Jerry was born and raised in Aberdeen, Washington to Patricia and Clayton “Bud” Hood. Jerry attended and graduated from Aberdeen Weatherwax High School with the class of 1973. Upon graduating, Jerry pursued his interest in baking. He was extraordinary at his trade, working at various locations over the years, including Stewart’s Shop Rite, Swanson’s, Safeway, Albertson’s and various other bakeries. His career took him from Aberdeen to as far away as Sitka, Alaska.

Jerry loved life and having a good laugh, loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and playing cards with the family. Jerry had a big heart and was generous, generous to a fault, giving freely when he had very little to give. May God bless you Jerry and hold you in your happiest moments forever. You are much loved and will be missed greatly.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia.

He is survived by his father, Clayton “Bud” Hood of Aberdeen; brother, Jeffrey (Margo) of Aberdeen; sister, Judy Otey of Post Falls, Idaho; daughter, Allison Graling (William)of Des Moines, Washington; son, Skyler of Seattle; two grandchildren, Ethan and Isabella, numerous nieces and nephews and longtime special friend, Becky Shelstad of Seattle.

At Jerry’s request there will be no service. Jerry has also requested that all donations made in his remembrance be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the charity of his choice because, “I couldn’t take the damn commercials anymore.”
