Jeanne B. Ellis Cox passed away at the age of 87 on Oct. 20, 2022, with her family by her side.

Jeanne was born on Dec. 6, 1934, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Walter and Mae Ellis. She had one brother Robert.

Jeanne was a business owner most of her life. She was a resident of Ocean Shores for the last 50 years, owning and operating the Westerly Motel. Jeanne was fortunate to live in her own home where she had many returning customers and entertained her family and friends.

Jeanne was proud of her over 36 years of sobriety. After working in the restaurant and bar business for most of her life, she worked in the field of recovery helping many people get clean and free.

Jeanne is survived by her son Michael Robert Brandeberry (Gail), daughter Kacy Mae Scott (David) and stepson Randy Cox. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Brandy Jean Brandeberry, Jared Michael Brandeberry (Emily), Taryn Michelle Goodman (Jeremy), Shana Zinser, Mandi LaPointe and Jennifer Schuchmann and great-grandchildren Brooklyn, Mason, and Kaia Brandeberry and Olivia Goodman.

She was preceded in death by her husband Allen Cox, her father, mother and brother.

A service will not be held. At Jeanne’s request her ashes will be spread at the same location as her husband and mother during a private ceremony.
