Jean Marie Jones, a lifelong Harbor resident, died peacefully on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021.

Jean Marie Jones, 67, a lifelong Harbor resident, died peacefully on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Aberdeen to Jean D. Teague and Ethel Teague on Aug. 14, 1953. She attended Wishkah Valley Schools and graduated from Wishkah Valley High School in 1971.

Jean married Michael T. Jones on August 21, 1971. He survives her at the family home.

Jean worked at Jay’s Nursery. She worked at Emergency Medical Services as a secretary. Jean also worked at CCAP for a short time. She worked at the Hoquiam Farmer’s Market as a baker at Nancy’s Bakery and as a vendor. In addition, Jean also worked for the American Heart Association teaching CPR.

Jean loved to read, do red work embroidery, sew and cook. She also loved going to “junk” stores and eating out at restaurants. Jean also loved riding motorcycles and admired old pickups. Going to craft stores and going to the beach were some of her favorite things to do. She also loved sci-fi movies, plants, birds, squirrels and chipmunks, and of course dogs and cats.

Jean was an EMT volunteer firefighter for District 15 for 33 years. She volunteered at the Red Cross where she taught 1st aid classes.

She will be greatly missed by those who knew her and loved her. Along with her husband of 49 years, she is also survived by her sister Sharon Teague; sisters-in-law Shirley Teague; Linda Welliver (Mike); nieces Shannon Anderson (Bob), Crystal Lawton (Seth) and many other nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Jean also is survived by her special friends Vicky, Charlie, Ann and Roy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Mike. Donations can be made in honor of Jean’s memory to your favorite charity. Due to covid restrictions a celebration of life will be at a later date.
